Dog Training Problems and How to Overcome Them
The task of training your dog or your puppy can truly be challenging. More often, you would likely encounter some dog training problems. Patience therefore is very important even from the start of training sessions. Dog owners like you should check from the start if they can give patience and commitment in teaching their dogs until they learn.
If you are planning to train your puppies or dogs or if just have started, here are some dog training problems and how to overcome them that you might likely encounter
1. Punishing your dogs during training
When your patience runs out and you start to become frustrated or you just chose to punish your dogs in training, it can also cause some dog training problems in the end. It may cause them fear or can also make them aggressive. Gentle handling with your dogs when teaching them is always preferable. You just have to prepare a lot of patience if you truly want to teach your dogs.
2. Your dog does something good and goes unrewarded
When training your puppy, one thing that will help him identify that he is doing what you want him to do is through the rewards and praise you give him. If you fail to reward or praise you puppy, he may not get what you want him to accomplish. Dog training problems most often surface when you tend to forget to reward or praise your dog for every task done during the training.
3. Some many problems in crate training
When you train your dogs and puppies in crates is one important thing in teaching your dogs. However, there are also common problems that you may encounter when doing crate training. One of the most common is when they are restless in their crates and can become annoying when they start to bark excessively, especially at night. When they are put in crates, it is important not to put them there for long hours as they may find it hard to control the urge to eliminate especially if they are still puppies.
Also take note that dogs should not stay in crates the whole time. They love companion, they love to play so putting them in crates all the time may cause them to feel weak. In choosing their crates, the right size also matters. Putting them in crates that are too big for them will most likely bring failure in house training your puppies, so be sure to choose the right size that the dog can sit and turn around but not big enough for them to eliminate in one corner.
Other dog training problems may arise during your dog training and it is important that you keep your patience intact and do not forget to have fun with your pets. Some problems like male dogs being territorial and aggressive can also be dealt with if you have your puppies neutered or spayed. It is also equally important to socialize your puppies and let them meet other dogs and puppies so he will learn to interact with them. Having your puppies at home should not mean depriving them from having fun with other dogs as well.
