1. Morning Etiquette /Routine:
Controlling your dog can be frustrating, especially if he is young. Every morning, at exactly 6am, take your dog to a specific area following a particularly route to that specific area. When you get to that specific area, converse with your dog by telling him what to do. Your specific area could be on a grass area, a newly built toilet for him, pavement, yard etc. You can say words like “toilet” “ease” “go Potty “etc.while your dog is actually urinating /defecating. Make sure you stick to a word, he will get used to this simple step to successful potty training.
2. Study your Dog:
This simple step to Successful Potty Training will also help you. When you take your dog out in the morning to that specific area, stay with him. Spend at least an hour or two with him. Doing this will make you know the specific range time he goes to Potty. Hence, this will make you know from what time to what time you will take him to go Potty.
3. Praise or commend your dog after potting:
Each time your dog successfully potty at that specific area, praise and play with him, you can also give him a special treat when he goes outside to Potty. Remember, dogs are sensitive and adaptive. Knowing fully well you will make him happy after potting successfully will make him desist from making you unhappy. This is important. So, impress and encourage him.
4. Allow him to explore:
Before returning your dog back to his crate, allow him to explore. Even dogs like a freedom just like we human beings. The ability for him to move around the house also makes them attached or familiar rather than hostile to the house. To avoid destroying anything, make sure you monitor him while exploring. Exploring is a way of exercising his body. The simple step is also part of the training.
5. Make his Crate Special:
His house should be special and comfy. Besides put a toy in his crates to keep him busy while you are away. Besides, if he becomes lonely in his crate, he can have something to play with. Make sure his crate is not too big. Therefore, make sure his crate is small.
