Ingredients -

3 ½ cups unbleached flour

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 cup cornmeal

½ cup powdered skim milk

1 tablespoon dry yeast

3 ½ cups chicken or meat broth

1 egg

Heat oven to 300 degrees

Mix together both types of flour, cornmeal & powdered skim milk. Set aside.

Warm the broth, add and dissolve the yeast. Let set for 10 minutes. Then add in the flour mixture.

Roll out the dough until it is approximately ¼ inch thick, cut into dog sized biscuits. Beat egg and brush biscuits with egg wash. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 45 minutes. Turn off oven but leave biscuits in overnight to harden. Makes approximately 60 average sized biscuits.
